Orbx Releases Unalaska Airport for MSFS

Coming from Matteo Venanziani, Orbx released a new scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator, this time recreating one of the most scenic airports in Alaska, Unalaska Airport (PADU).

From the developer of Burbank, Skiathos, and Van Nuys for Microsoft Flight Simulator, the scenery includes a plethora of immersion-adding features.

For example, in addition to highly detailed ground textures depicting the present wear and tear details, you can enjoy the complete reproduction of the entire city and harbours with custom buildings and local landmarks.

Furthermore, the scenery comes with realistic orthoimagery for the airport and its vicinity, and optional static aircraft to make the airport area feel more alive. What’s more, since the airport is situated in Alaska, snow is not uncommon, hence Matteo had to make sure the scenery is going to be compatible with the included snow accumulation logic.

Unalaska Airport (PADU) is a remote public airport on Amaknak Island, near the Bering Sea. The airport sees regular traffic from local cargo operators with direct routes to Anchorage and passenger routes to Anchorage and nearby islands. The approach to the airport can be challenging for many, given that the runway is bordered by a steep drop-off into the ocean on one side and a hill on the other.

You can purchase the scenery through the Orbx store for 16€ by clicking here.
