Parallel 42 (also stylised as //42) are a developer who have been releasing a regular stream of products for the MFSF line, which are aimed more at the ‘rugged’ pilot. Daredevils, bush aviators and everyone in between have loved their range of add-ons, and it’s no doubt introduced many of the hardened airliner pilots into a more casual area of aviation. Now it seems Parallel 42 are going to bring that right back down to the ground with an expansion into the incredibly popular American Truck Simulator world.
Announced on their official blog on May 7, 2025, this release will target PC users, introducing a familiar location to ATS players who might not have been exposed to the Flight Sim ecosystem. Currently in the final stage of development, Parallel 42 stated that the add-on will launch “soon,” expanding their simulation portfolio beyond flight into the world of virtual trucking, which they describe as aligning with their philosophy of “freedom, the freedom to explore, discover, and immerse.”
Originally developed for Microsoft Flight Simulator, Circle B Ranch is set in Wyoming and features a detailed layout that includes a truck and cattle trailer, as noted in our announcement – a subtle hint of its eventual ATS adaptation that some may have picked up on.
Rebuilt from scratch specifically for ATS, this version incorporates handcrafted details to create an authentic sense of place. The scenery aims to provide truckers with a recognisable stopover, mirroring the experience of pilots who have visited the ranch in MSFS. Parallel 42 emphasised their focus on immersion, drawing parallels between the journey-driven nature of trucking and flight simulation, where both communities value planning, exploration, and the rhythm of the experience over merely reaching a destination.
//42 Expanding Boundaries
Parallel 42 continues to evolve as a simulation developer, driven by what they describe as a vision where “simulation isn’t limited to one genre, platform, or perspective.” Their work, so far, has primarily focused on Microsoft Flight Simulator, creating scenery and utilities that enhance immersion, aimed at those seeking adventure rather than just point to point flights.
Supporting PC and Xbox platforms for their flight sim offerings, Parallel 42 notes that this new release will only be available to ATS players on PC. The upcoming release of Circle B Ranch for ATS reflects their commitment to cross-genre simulation, catering to enthusiasts who value detailed virtual worlds across different simulation experiences.
