Parallel 42 took to the stage at FSExpo Friday to announce some new updates for Chaseplane, Flow, and their scenes. The team also took the opportunity to talk about their upcoming Super Patriot Mk. 2, as well as announce a new aircraft, developed in collaboration with a popular YouTuber.
Updates
Chaseplane
Parallel 42 has been working on what they call the “FSExpo Update” for Chaseplane. This update will bring new features and bug fixes to the camera tool. A “major refactoring” of the cockpit camera included rewriting much of the code for it to fix many of the issues highlighted by the community’s feedback, as well as enhance performance. This major refactoring also includes official Tobii Eye Tracker support, which was developed in collaboration with Tobii.
Another new feature coming with the FSExpo update is custom cinematics. You will now be able to select custom views to be added to the cinematics cycle, and Chaseplane will not only include these views, but also add some motion. The spot view is also receiving some changes, which will allow you to change the aircraft’s position in this view.

Parallel 42 also mentioned that there were other changes included that they didn’t have time to talk about, and that the update will be coming next week. For those wanting to use Chaesplane in MSFS 2024, a version of the add-on is currently in internal testing, but it will still need some time to fix some issues before it can be released.

Flow
The next update for Flow, Parallel 42’s replacement of MSFS’s toolbar, will include MSFS 2024 support. The team stated that they have a working build in the new simulator already, but that they need more time to fix it.
Scenes
Circle B Ranch, Widows Peak, Bush Plane Campout, Mexican Mountain, and Hogsback Ranch, will all be receive completely reworked versions for MSFS 2024 that will add some improvements and interactive features enabled by the capabilities of the new simulator.

FreedomFox/Fox 2
Parallel 42 is working on native versions of the FreedomFox and Fox 2. These versions will feature some of MSFS 2024’s features, including walkaround support, career compatibility, implementing the new version of the Garmin G3X avionics, and support for MSFS 2024’s default EFB.

New Aircraft
Patriot Aircraft
Parallel 42’s next aircraft, the Super Patriot Mk. 2, is in its late stages of modeling, and is available at the expo for simmers to take a look at. The founder of Patriot Aircraft went on stage to talk about the development process with Parallel 42, highlighting the team’s attention to detail in the modeling area.

Legend Nomad
The Legend Nomad is Parallel 42’s next aircraft after the Super Patriot. Trent Palmer, of YouTube fame, owns one of these aircraft, and Parallel 42 will be working with him to bring it to the sim. No more details about this aircraft were mentioned.
