Parallel 42, a well-known add-on developer for a variety of flight simulators, including MSFS 2020 and 2024, has announced the end of its distribution partnership with Orbx, an important add-on seller in the flight simulation community.
7-Year Partnership Comes to an End
The partnership, according to Ed Correia from Parallel 42, has helped the developer get to where they are today, but now, “it’s time for the next chapter.” This means Parallel 42 products will no longer be available for purchase on Orbx Direct. However, people who have purchased its products through Orbx will still have access to them in their Orbx accounts, but those versions will stay frozen at their last update.
Starting now, updates will only come through the //42 Store, Microsoft Marketplace, or Contrail. Parallel 42 recommends Orbx purchases be migrated over to the //42 Store as soon as possible, as Ed states, “this independence lets us focus on what matters most, you,” emphasizing the control the developer will have over its customers’ experience.
