About the J-3 Cub
The Piper J-3 Cub is a small light aircraft that was built between the years 1937 and 1947, and still remains a popular bush plane to many. In the United States, over 19,000 units were built.
The J-3 is equipped with a Continental A-40 engine with 37 horse power. It was also used during the WWII they served as an air patrol aircraft. After the war, it became an icon of the American general aviation industry, and in the 1940s, the J-3 was replaced with the Piper PA-11 Cub Special.
Nowadays, this aircraft is still popular due to its upgradability and STOL capabilities. The plane is according to the pilots very comfortable to control, thus it is still a popular choice among many.
