CEO of PMDG, Robert Randazzo, has just a few hours ago shared another development update regarding their 737 for Microsoft Flight Simulator and BBJ expansion package for Prepar3D. The development was as usually shared through their forums, also showing off few screenshot previews.
In the first section of the update, the developer shared a piece of information about BBJ Expansion Package for the current version of 737 for Prepar3D. The developer says that even though the aircraft looks the same as the classic version of aircraft, there are significant changes made to the aircraft. The differences appear mainly in many of the operational systems designed to support the needs of corporate aviation.
Unfortunately, the developers discovered major issues with the aircraft days from the release, and it was delayed. The issue was with the fuel systems of the aircraft. As of right now, this issue has been fixed and the last beta is now being sent to the beta-testers.
The second part of the development update is dedicated to the PMDG 777 update. The developer said that they continue to improve the upcoming update for the 777 series of aircraft. In the first half of October, the developers look forward to sending the first beta version to beta-testers. What we actually can expect from this 777 update is improved systems, PBR, and many other modern features found now in PMDG 737 NGXu and 747. The developer said we can expect a big development update regarding the 777 very soon, as there are many interesting things to cover.
The last part of the development update was dedicated to Microsoft Flight Simulator. The NG3 for it will be unfortunately delayed because there are several major issues in the development of the aircraft. The developers really wanted to see the aircraft to be released in Q4 of 2020, however, with the number of issues, the developer delayed the release for Q3 of 2021. There is still, however, a downslide risk releasing it in the last quarter of 2021, if there will be even worse issues.
As the developer had planned to implement all of their other aircraft to Microsoft Flight Simulator, but the resources won’t be dedicated to MSFS for a while longer because of the issues described above.
