PMDG Releases Major 737 Line Up Update

The PMDG team has recently taken to their Forums to announce the release of the major Boeing 737 Line Up update, which brings the aircraft series up to the PMDG Boeing 777 standard. This includes the new navdata systems and improved PMDG Universal Flight Tablet.

Features of the New Update

The new navdata in the 737 now supports the new AIRNC424 standard and allows the aircraft to fly practically every leg possible. Robert Randazzo mentions that the 737 is able to perform all these leg types as precisely as possible.

The whole changelog then speaks about the improvements to the IRU drift model, improvements to the VNAV CRZ autopilot system, corrected drawings on the ND, especially the VOR R needle, and the general flight control handling of the aircraft, which has been improved as well. This includes both in the air, as well as on the ground, as the ground steering has been brought up on par with the PMDG’s 777-300ER.

The aircraft also received the default Asobo weather radar, which now allows users to see the weather conditions on instruments. Robert Randazzo emphasizes that the weather radar is not 100% functional, and rather only shows a weather layer the simulator generated.

Furthermore, PMDG also updated the Universal Flight Tablet, which now includes all the stuff that the 777-300ER had on release. This consists of the new Ground Operations app, from which you can control the ground connections, maintain your aircraft, and load it up. Furthermore, as in the 777-300ER, you can now update your navdata through the Universal Flight Tablet.

How To Update?

The updating process is a bit more tricky this time. To update, you will have to update the PMDG Operations Center, which you can do either by manually removing everything from the folder except for the OpsCenterUpdater.exe file, or via the app itself, by clicking file, then navigate to update this app and only after that, you will be able to update the 737 Series as usually.
