PMDG have published another post on their forums detailing a few more updates on their products. This post also shared some previews of their upcoming 747. As the SU1 beta is now available for MSFS 2024, PMDG have also shared some information on the progress with making their products compatible with the new simulator.

PMDG Shares SU1 Beta Information

Microsoft recently released the first major update for MSFS 2024 into a beta state. PMDG had previously stated that they hoped this update would fix some glaring issues. These issues were preventing them from moving forward with 2024 development. In another post published today (25th of January 2025), PMDG had said they have had time to look the at new SU1 update.

The developers have now had time to look over SU1 as much as possible. They are cautiously optimistic at this stage but believe they are unstuck when it comes to working inside MSFS 2024. The 777 has been built inside the SDK for 2024 and ran in a mostly stable state. They tested the aircraft through an entire flight and logged any issues that arose.

Issues are appearing that do not appear in 2020 and need addressing by PMDG. They have reason to believe that the full stop blockers, which prevented WASM development in 2024, have been removed. They can now proceed with a full analysis of the 777 to see what needs to be fixed/upgraded. At this stage, the 777 runs but is not usable.

737NG and 737MAX Updates

As previewed last week, PMDG have pushed a new update out for the 737NG. This update focuses on the tablet and the spinning logo issue on the main screen. The fixes were brought over from the 777. Beyond this, not much else was changed on the NG. You can download the new version via the PMDG Operations Center. Marketplace customers will get this build soon once it has been approved.

Following this update, not much is up next for the 737NG. PMDGs development efforts are currently focused on other products. They will circle back for a large update cycle to move it into MSFS 2024. This update will include new model upgrades, new sounds and many other changes to bring it up-to-date. For the 737MAX, no other information has been shared and nothing has changed since this post.

777 Updates

Clarifying last week’s update, PMDG stated the 200ER is being readied for beta testing. This means testing has not started yet. The 200ER will release for MSFS 2020 initially, with its MSFS 2024 release following that in a free update. The 200LR will follow and will release in both 2020 and 2024. No dates have been set for these releases yet.

Bug fixes for the 777 will be released in another update. This update will fix any other issues reported in the 777. This update, however, does not have a release date or any sort of schedule. What is certain is that it will not release next week.

PMDG 747 Previews

PMDG is not certain what 747 will release first. At the moment, both the -100 and -400 are advancing as part of the core development. They have moved some of the team away from the 777 to work on the 747. They are now working with the 747-100 flight deck inside the simulator. Looking at the 747, they have also shared some images of the flight engineer station. There is no wear and tear in textures yet.

Many simmers will be used to highly automated aircraft that don’t require as much operational knowledge. Seeing all these dials and switches may be daunting for some. To help simmers, PMDG have begun to map out a process for virtual crew members to help manage this machine. Simmers can focus on the stick, rudder, and throttles while your crew manages the rest, or you can dive in deep.

It’s still too soon for any flight deck previews of the 747-400. However, the simulations for this aircraft are well advanced. They are not sure which one of these two iconic aircraft will land first at this stage. The images shared show of lots of detail to give you an idea of how the project is shaping up. Looking closely, you can see the textures of the fairings above the panel. No detail is spared.

PMDG want to give you a true immersive experience with the 747. They are going into lots of detail in the systems and the texturing to give you the best 747 product they can. What was shown in the post is a very early stage of what the final product will look like. Nothing in these images are finished, and lots of changes are being made every day.
