Project Airport, a freeware project for creating custom airports for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, has released a brand-new tool for creating aircraft liveries, along with a custom charts configurator.
The Livery Workshop
The Livery Workshop allows users to create their own liveries on a 3D aircraft model with options to add fills, stripes, text, and logos. Additionally, users can add their own decals. For now, 32 airframes are supported, with more to come soon; add-ons from third-party developers are not included due to the need for developers’ permissions. The liveries have an option to sync with your sim, which makes them visible in group flights and multiplayer. Supporters, on the other hand, get an option to subscribe to individual liveries or fetch the entire community library into the simulator.
Charts
Airports with navigation aids or IFR procedures now have a dedicated chart section on their public pages. The section displays on-field VOR/DME, DME, and NDB stations. When a navigation aid is associated with a procedure, or a runway has an ILS or RNAV approach, an approach plate is generated using the same data used by the simulator. The generated plates include information such as frequencies, courses, minimums, missed approach instructions, and holding procedures, where applicable. Approach data can be configured through the Airport Editor. The system also checks for conflicts with real-world instrument data when procedures are created.
