Propair Flight Releases Kaunas Airport for MSFS

Propair Flight has recently shown their new scenery of Kaunas Airport (EYKA) for Microsoft Flight Simulator, the second largest airport in Lithuania is now available.

About Kaunas Airport

Kaunas Airport is located approximately a hundred kilometres away from the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius and is the fourth busiest airport in the Baltics.

The operations at this airport began in 1988. Back then, Aeroflot mostly used the airport for flights to Kyiv, Kharkiv, Moscow, Odesa or Šiauliai. It got the status of an international airport in 1991 after Lithuania got its independence from the Soviet Union.

A regional airline Air Lithuania started operating in the split of the Millenium, when scheduled and charter flights took place to Budapest, Billund, Hamburg or Oslo.

Currently, the airport is mostly operated by Ryanair, when in 2006 the largest low-cost airline in Europe established a base here. Ryanair operates flights to major airports in Europe, such as Bratislava, Belfast, London, Liverpool, Stockholm and Warsaw.

Kaunas Airport has a single runway over 3000 metres long and 20 stands for airliners. Operated by a single terminal, it moves annually around 1.1 million passengers.

Propair Kaunas Features

The developer created detailed models around the whole airport, which are covered in 4K PBR textures. The custom ground polygon also improves the accuracy and custom night lighting helps the scenery to look as realistic as possible.

There are also animated people that wander around in the 3D passenger terminal. The aircraft maintenance hangar is also 3D on the inside.

You can get this scenery for approximately €13.78 via the Orbx Central app and their website. You can also read our coverage of Propairs St. George Regional Airport here.
