QualityWings Simulations Trademark Expired

QualityWings Simulations has been silent for quite some time now, and recently we found out that the developer’s trademark has expired.

Development Background

QualityWings was always an active developer, with various aeroplanes on their account. They are responsible for the already mentioned 787, Boeing 757, and BAE 146 for FSX and Prepar3D. With the Ultimate 787 Series being the latest release in 2017, they have not released a new plane ever since. The last Service Pack Update for the 787 was released almost three years ago, at the beginning of 2021.

The developer was actively informing the community about the progress through their Facebook page. They were actively engaging with the community by sharing various surveys and wishing people the best for the holidays and more. They were publishing previews and updates frequently, usually once a month.

The team also aimed to bring the 787 Series for Microsoft Flight Simulator, about which the last news was published three years ago at the end of 2020, a few months after the Asobo’s platform was released.

Community’s Anticipation

As the developer became gradually more silent, the anticipation from the community was skyrocketing. People were thrilled to see the 787 in Microsoft Flight Simulator and many players didn’t even purchase the Premium Deluxe Upgrade of Microsoft Flight Simulator, as they thought that the 787 by QualityWings was around the corner.

As the months passed, the community became more concerned about the developer, constantly asking about the status of the development under the last Facebook post. Unfortunately, nobody received anything but radio silence, which made the whole situation even more concerning. However, many thought that the developer was hard at work with the aeroplane.

QualityWings Trademark is No Longer Valid

Looking at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), we found the latest data about the developer. The trademark status is pronounced to be invalidated. While the trademark application was registered, it was subsequently cancelled and invalidated from the registry.

The status part of the page shows that the registration was cancelled because QualityWings didn’t file an acceptable declaration. It seems that the USPTO sent a courtesy reminder about the trademark on the 18th of August 2020. QualityWings’ silence probably led to the trademark cancellation on the 4th of March 2022.

Thus, QualityWings seems to be out of business at the time of writing this article. However, this is just a speculation and since the team has not confirmed anything, it is subject to change. Despite that, the lack of activity and an expired trademark may only lead to one destiny.
