SayIntentions Releases Living World AI Traffic for X-Plane

SayIntentions.AI brings Living World AI traffic to X-Plane 11 and 12 for Premium subscribers on Windows, with real-world schedules and AI ATC sequencing.

SayIntentions.AI has made its Living World AI traffic available in X-Plane 11 and 12 for all Premium subscribers on Windows. According to a press release, the feature fills X-Plane airports and airspace with airliners and general aviation aircraft. The same AI air traffic control system that handles the pilot’s own flight also controls them. Living World is already available to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 users, so this brings X-Plane in line with the other simulators the service supports.

SayIntentions.AI is known for its AI-powered ATC, and also offers an AI co-pilot. The company says airliners in Living World fly real-world seasonal routes on real-world schedules and park at the gates pilots would expect to see them at. Each aircraft has its own AI pilot and talks to the AI ATC. General aviation traffic flies realistic traffic patterns at smaller airports, so local fields should feel as busy as the major hubs.

The developer stresses that this is not a replay of live traffic. Many traffic solutions replay real-world ADS-B positions, but SayIntentions.AI says a replayed aircraft cannot follow instructions, so ATC cannot fit the pilot into the flow around it. Instead, the system starts from real-world airline schedules and generates and sequences the traffic itself. Its AI aircraft can hold short, slow down, extend downwind, follow the pilot on final and react to changing traffic conditions.

X-Plane traffic injection opened to SayIntentions.AI Partners on October 8, and the team says it has refined the feature based on their reports since then. Injected aircraft now appear on TCAS, produce sound, and fly and land more smoothly than during the preview.

“We’ve spent more than a year bringing this technology to X-Plane, and we couldn’t be more excited to finally share it,” said Brian Shellabarger, Founder and CEO of SayIntentions.AI. He added that X-Plane pilots had been asking for this for a long time.

Living World AI traffic for X-Plane 11 and 12 is included with a SayIntentions.AI Premium subscription on Windows. Pilots switch it on in the Pilot Portal under Settings and Traffic Injection. New users can try it free for 24 hours without a credit card, and afterwards the Premium subscription is about 14€ per month.
