Sim Federation releases Embraer ERJ 145 for MSFS

Sim Federation has released its Embraer ERJ 145 add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. The ERJ 145 is the first of its kind for MSFS, providing sim pilots with a popular short-haul regional aircraft. According to the official store listing, the package offers full VR compatibility alongside a fully modelled 3D passenger cabin and virtual cockpit.

The Embraer ERJ 145

The Embraer ERJ 145 made its maiden flight on 11 August 1995, and entered commercial service in April 1997 with Continental Express. Designed as a short-haul regional jet, it carries up to 50 passengers and is powered by two Rolls-Royce AE 3007 turbofan engines. With a cruise speed of approximately Mach 0.78 (530 mph) and a service ceiling of 37,000 feet, it has a typical range of 1,550 to 1,800 miles depending on configuration. The ERJ 145 family, which includes the shorter ERJ 135 and mid-length ERJ 140, saw more than 1,200 units produced before manufacturing concluded in 2020.

Model Features

According to the SimMarket product page, Sim Federation’s ERJ 145 includes a fully modelled virtual cockpit with functioning instruments, high-resolution textures inside and out, and a complete 3D passenger cabin. The aircraft is compatible with both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 and supports virtual reality. No information is provided regarding system depth, custom avionics, or third-party FMS support.

Early Impressions

Feedback from the SimMarket review section indicate that the ERJ 145’s visual fidelity is well received, yet core systems appear largely non-functional. Several users note that the add-on defaults to the simulator’s native FMS rather than offering a custom navigation unit, reaffirming the absence of bespoke avionics. Comments further cite problematic throttle sensitivity and inconsistent flight dynamics, characterising the package as primarily aesthetic in its current form.

The Sim Federation ERJ 145 is available exclusively through SimMarket, with installation handled via the store’s SimInstaller system. The download size is approximately 1.15 GB. For previous Sim Federation releases, read here on FSNews.
