SimWorks Studios released a new development update focusing on their next release for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. The GA-8 Airvan is the next add-on from this developer to be released for both simulators. This aircraft has been in development for a while, along with other projects from SimWorks Studios.
In this new development update, the developer gave an overview of the current situation with this aircraft. SimWorks Studios officially announced the release window for this aircraft and revealed more information about the release of this add-on. SimWorks Studios also released a video showcasing this aircraft as a teaser of what is to come.
Add-On Status
After a little introduction of the GA-8 Airvan, the developer shared the status of the GA-8 at this time. The add-on will be divided into two versions: One for MSFS 2020 and one for MSFS 2024. The MSFS 2020 version will release first as it is now “feature-complete” according to the developer. The team is now finalizing the writing of the manuals and implementing the aircraft’s EFB for this version. The MSFS 2024 version of the GA-8 will be released later. However, the GA-8 for MSFS 2024 will come with features exclusive to this simulator.
The MSFS 2024 version will be fully compatible with the simulator’s career mode. The team is excited as they now have one of their aircraft in this game mode. SimWorks Studios is still working on this version due to a problem with the simulator’s failure system, which is still unsolved.

SimWorks Studios released a promotional video for this aircraft on YouTube. This video showcases some of the features of this aircraft. With this add-on, you will be able to interact with multiple elements of the exterior of this aircraft, as shown in the video. Door animation, visible cargo, and other ground elements can be seen in the video. The aircraft is then shown taxiing and taking off at the end of the video.
GA-8 Release Window
The GA-8 Airvan MSFS 2020 version is scheduled to be released during the second half of August. The MSFS 2024 version will be released a few weeks later.
