SimWorks Studios took to their Discord server recently to share a short, July development update to tell us about the latest going on with the team. They shared information regarding the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 version of the Airvan, the Kodiak, and the PC-12 products.
Airvan MSFS2024 Status
The team first shared information on the MSFS2024 version of the Airvan and its progress so far. The team shares that it has made great headway with the product, and all of the functionality from the MSFS2020 version has been ported to the MSFS2024 platform. The new version takes advantage of all the advanced features MSFS2024 has to offer, such as dirt and grime build-up, which is much smoother and better-looking. Preflight items have also been implemented in the sim’s walkaround mode, and the team has also managed to maintain their own preflight features in place without breaking any backend stuff.

Kodiak 900 and PC-12 Update
The SWS team then went on to share progress on the Kodiak 900 aircraft. The aircraft’s systems have been in a near-finished state for close to a year now. But kept it for further development to see what MSFS2024 brings and take advantage of the new features the sim has to offer. As a consequence of the significant changes from MSFS2020, the team re-textured the entire plane inside and out. The cabin has also been partially remodeled. The Kodiak 900 will be released first due to its simplicity, followed by the Kodiak 100.

Next up, the PC-12. The team has discovered the cause of the plane’s tendency to veer right, and the solution for it is being tested; the results are promising so far. The team has also implemented the new cabin walls from the PC-12NG into the legacy aircraft, along with new seat models and LODs. SWS is also looking into porting the Airvan EFB into the PC-12, along with avionics bug fixes. This will give them a good base to turn the PC-12 Legacy into the NG, SystemsPulse, and MSFS2024. If you are a repainter, cabin customization has been made easier by removing several excess materials and adding detailed textures. The pillow, headrest, curtain, inner, and outer seat quilting can now be individually customized through the use of the detailed textures.

Closing Notes
It’s another exciting but short update from the team over at SimWorks Studios regarding their Airvan, Kodiak aircraft, and the PC-12. There is good progress on the products, and we can soon use more of their aircraft in the latest sim.
