SoFly, an add-on developer for Microsoft Flight Simulator, is set to release its aircraft sound enhancement product this month. Originally announced at FSExpo earlier this year, the product was slated for a summer release. Its name has since changed from Aircraft Sound Enhancer to AeroTone.

AeroTone provides authentic sounds for all aircraft and vehicles, along with selected environmental audio. It aims to deliver a “richer, more convincing audio landscape that brings you closer to real-world aviation.” This is supported by a partnership with sound studio Echo19, which captured hundreds of sound effects. Users can expect ground roll, vibration, airframe stress, and more to react dynamically according to a complex logic system. Additional effects, such as dynamic cabin ambience, display buzz, circulation fans, water splash impacts, and many others, further expand the simulator’s auditory depth.

A custom-designed in-sim panel ties together the product’s three core components: sounds, aircraft profiles, and ATC. The panel offers a range of options to ensure a seamless user experience, eliminating the need for external tools. Further immersion comes from over 100 hours of pre-recorded global ATC chatter, including regional accents, call signs, and phase-of-flight-specific transmissions. Although AeroTone works automatically with every aircraft, users can customise each one individually by installing community profiles, creating their own, or using the official profiles, which include settings for more than 120 aircraft at launch.

This comprehensive audio enhancement solution is fully compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. Following its PC launch in December, AeroTone, detailed further on the product page, will soon arrive on Xbox and PS5 via the MSFS Marketplace.
