The developer SoFly, responsible for a variety of add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator and a few sceneries, such as Hannover Airport and Skopje Airfield Collection, is working on expanding the number of sceneries for Balkan airports by releasing their rendition of Ohrid for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The team has announced this release through their Facebook page.
About Ohrid and its Airport
Ohrid Airport serves one scenic city in the western corner of North Macedonia. Lying right next to a large lake, it is a hidden Balkan gem and a popular destination for locals. For its numerous churches, this city is known as the “Jerusalem of the Balkans”. This creates a symbiotic balance of sightseeing opportunities and the laid-back energy of chilling next to the lake.

The airport is named after St. Paul the Apostle and was initially opened in the 1950s. The airport went through a major reconstruction in 2004, when it got a new runway and other facilities, including approach lights. The airport can accommodate narrow-body jets, such as the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 series. It is operated mostly during the summer season, with flights to destinations like Belgrade, Amsterdam, Vienna, Istanbul or Zurich.
About the SoFly Rendition
The scenery offers a realistic rendition of this small Macedonian hub. The scenery is developed for SoFly by SkyHigh Studios and is packed with modern and revolutionary features. The team is selling this scenery as “perfect for the MSFS 2024’s walk-around mode”. The scenery includes interactive doors, animated flags, and dynamic snow build-up. There are more dynamic things around this scenery, including automatic doors in the terminal and other movable objects.

The scenery is not lacking in details either. There are details such as CCTV cameras, air conditioning units, and a highly detailed terminal interior. The scenery is covered in clutter objects, making it lifelike, including cars, fencing, lamp poles, 3D passengers and highly realistic textures.
You can purchase this scenery through the SoFly website for €11.67. SoFly’s Ohrid scenery is compatible with both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. To learn more about SoFly, make sure to read our previous article about their work here.
