SSG B747-8 Update Now Available for X-Plane 12

 

After being in beta for over six months, Flight Procedures Simulation released its SSG B747-8 update version 2.8 for X-Plane 12. The main improvements include flight dynamics, manual and automatic flight guidance, flight performance, fuel consumption, and MCDU features, among others.

SSG B747-8 Main Improvements

In the changelog, the developer elaborates on the main improvements included in this “huge update,” which has been extensively tested by many beta users. The key updates include, but are not limited to:

  • New algorithm for fuel/time prediction and improved step climb, considering cost index
  • Improved SIDs magenta lines (track)
  • Improved vertical navigation (VNAV)
  • Improved auto-thrust functionality
  • Better speed and altitude restrictions
  • Faster flight plan loading
  • Support for latitudinal and longitudinal waypoints

Additional Notes

In summary, Flight Procedures Simulation has continued to refine its Boeing 747-8, the only aircraft of its type available for Laminar Research’s flight simulator. This update will be exclusive to X-Plane 12, as the developer has announced it will no longer update this aircraft for X-Plane 11.
