SSG Releases a Major Update for the 747 (XP11)

Supercritical Simulations Group have recently released a new major update for their Boeing 747-8 Series Anniversary Edition for X-Plane 11. Bringing the aircraft to version 2.3, it features many improvements to the aircraft model, textures, and systems.

The overall external model of the aircraft was revised and improved for better user immersion, a new set of PBR textures was introduced for the best visual experience, the particle system was improved featuring more effects, or the lighting was improved throughout the interior.

In case of the system improvements, RAT engine turbine was added to the hydraulic systems, new terrain display on the ND was introduced with automatic terrain detection, the autopilot was improved as well as it should now follow all SIDs properly, and generally, VNAV and LNAV logic was improved for better accuracy.

For users who were experiencing performance issues while using the addon, the developers have as well included FPS improvements in the update that are especially visible while using Vulkan or Metal rendering engine.

The complete changelog of the new version can be seen below. Before updating the aircraft using SkunkCrafts Updater, the developer recommends the user remove all liveries from the aircraft files as they are not compatible with the new model and textures.

If you want to purchase the addon, you can do so through the X-Plane.org Store for $48.
