The developer Synaptic Simulations has revealed some new information about their upcoming Airbus A220 for Microsoft Flight Simulator and Flight Simulator 2024. These new previews and loads of interesting things about the development were shared via the iniBuilds forums.
Synaptic Simulations starts this forum post by mentioning that the team has been focusing a lot on recreating this aircraft as faithfully as possible in the simulated world, with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail. The team has rebuilt the whole 3D model of the A220, which resulted in a detailed visual recreation of this modern airliner.

The team mentions that iniBuilds has also helped with the product, with their knowledge of texturing and asset integration to both Asobo’s simulators, as well as sound design and their own EFB. Moreover, the post then mentions the immersive attention to detail with the 3D model, with the various rivets, panel lines and spoiler systems. These are all visibly detailed on this upcoming aircraft.
The cabin of the aircraft is also modelled, and the flight deck is as detailed. Speaking of the flight deck, the team then went on to show us a little bit of the systems that are still a work in progress. Some flaws in the systems, like inaccuracies on the displays, were already mentioned, and the team is working on that as well. There is a total of 646 system components that were modelled so far, this includes avionics, pressurisation, generators and a lot more.

There is also going to be a custom autopilot and custom flight management computer, by the looks of it. This system will also include Navigraph integration and will power a custom flight control system, which will also be created from scratch. The EICAS is also promised to simulate everything as realistically as possible.

A possible release schedule has been outlined as well, and the aircraft is planned to be released for both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 and will be available on the Marketplace and in the iniBuilds store. The initial launch will include the A220-300, with A220-100 following later on. The details of the release will be disclosed on stream during this month.
