The new flight management system is a collaboration between Working Title and FlyByWire to bring a completely new system that replaces the vanilla flight plan manager. It eliminates issues like incorrect procedures and ignored STARs when starting a downwind leg.

The new system also supports flight plan discontinuities, as well as allowing us to implement holding patterns in the future, along with other more complex procedures. This work will be part of our completely remade FMGC/Autopilot system.

Our next episode of The Workshop is scheduled to be published on January 15th, 2021
