Top Gun: Maverick DLC for MSFS Released

The MSFS team has released a new free DLC for the simulator. Top Gun: Maverick DLC for MSFS comes with new missions and SR-72 for MSFS.

The Microsoft Flight Simulator team has earlier this week proudly announced the release of the previously announced Top Gun: Maverick DLC for MSFS. The Top Gun DLC for MSFS is themed around the newest movie in the Top Gun franchise (Top Gun: Maverick).

The DLC is free of charge for all owners of the Microsoft Flight Simulator. It comes with a new livery for the F/A-18E Super Hornet or three new training missions. Further, the developers have included a number of new challenges as part of the DLC.

With this new DLC, flight simmers can test their high-speed and supersonic flying abilities in military jets.

In addition, and most notably, the team has introduced the Darkstar, also known as Lockheed Martin SR-72. In MSFS, the addon can handle flying above 150,000 feet above sea level at speeds of Mach 10. There is a specific way the aircraft achieves Mach 10 which is described in one of the missions or in the aircraft itself.

The team has further commented: “Develop the skills required and navigate the complexities encountered by actual Top Gun pilots in authentic locations including the most challenging landing – on an aircraft carrier This offering will push your piloting abilities to the limits—and beyond.“.

You can download the DLC through the in-game Marketplace. It is now available and free of charge.
