UK2000 Suspends X-Plane 11 Development

UK2000, a well-known multi-platform scenery developer, has today taken to their Facebook Page to announce the suspension of the development for X-Plane 11.

The possibility of suspending the development for X-Plane 11 was first mentioned in late October 2020 in a post originally addressing the Microsoft Flight Simulator Development. Back then, the developer was looking into possibilities.

Today, the development for X-Plane 11 was officially suspended. It was said in the post, that UK2000 can’t handle development for four simulators at one time (Prepar3D, FSX, X-Plane, and Microsoft Flight Simulator), especially when taking in account the fact, that UK2000 has only one developer.

It was further said, that the reason is as well the issues the developer had during the X-Plane 11 development. UK2000 was always used to developing for FSX, Prepar3D, and Microsoft Flight Simulator which are all very similar, at least from the development side.

UK2000 will be shifting their development focus to the three previously mentioned simulators. It was said: “This decision has not been easy, but it is a decision that we feel we must take as a scenery developer for the betterment of our staff and developer to continue thriving in the future.“.

Current X-Plane 11 sceneries will remain available to be purchased on the UK2000 website.
