Where2Fly announced version 2.1 for their website program in mid-October 2024. They introduced version 2 nearly two months ago, and this is their biggest update since then. It offers many quality-of-life improvements and fixes to previous features to enhance the user experience.
About Where2Fly
Where2Fly is a free web-based flight pre-planning tool that aims to help simmers choose their routes and inform them about their journey. If you often spend an hour about where to go every time you decide to fly and end up doing nothing, this might be the perfect tool for you. But since you can’t use something you don’t know how to use, we have an ideal introduction editorial that will guide you through the app and hopefully teach you something new.
Between the version 2 and 2.1 updates, numerous fixes were made and new features were added, such as improved map performance through dynamic data loading, fixes to the user portal, general website enhancements, and much more.
v2.1 Update
The new version of Where2Fly introduces several new features and integrations, such as a dedicated page for scenery and a link to Flightradar24, allowing you to view available flights on Flightradar24 and list flyable aircraft for each flight. You can now also view sceneries directly from the ‘Scenery’ page, with tags added for airports in your lists. Additionally, fixes were made to improve the login page and the email verification system.
One of the biggest additions in this update is the FS Addon Compare integration. FS Addon Compare provides detailed analytics on add-ons, including price details and history, showing the lowest and highest prices over time. With a direct link, you can easily access the pricing details for a specific scenery with just a click.
