VA Systems showcased Panel after its first reveal at the last FSExpo in Las Vegas. Along with the new updates about Panel, the team also announced that they are working on hardware-related products as a sister company, “VA Hardware”. While not much was shared on that note, it was revealed that the hardware will be related to the field they are focused on: airline data.
One of the first things the developer mentioned was the feedback from the consumers regarding the limited aircraft selection and the high need for disk space for a pack to be downloaded. According to the developers, Panel will address this situation and make it much easier for simmers to access and use their products. It will work like an EFB or tablet with numerous applications inside.
The Missions app was already present in the app, but two new applications, Activities and Checklists, were announced in the presentation.
The new Activities app allows you to access all your airline and aircraft packs in one place. You can choose any aircraft available from any airline in any season, with summer or winter seasons as options. The application will show you what you can fly that meets your criteria and is flown in the real world.
The other new app is the Checklist app, which offers a checklist service for different aircraft, airlines, and situations while providing voice assistance. The Activities app will be available in the following weeks, and the Checklist app’s release date is April.
The team also announced that Panel will include a Simbrief integration and a demo for every product for users to try out.
Panel will be available on both PC and Xbox. It will be available for free on VA Systems’ website. However, if you want to get it from the Marketplace, because of the Marketplace’s pricing policy, it will be sold for $4.99. If you link Panel to your account on VA Systems’ website, you will also get a £5 discount for VA Systems products on their store.
