Vertex Design Releases King Fahd Airport (OEDF) for MSFS

 

Vertex Design Studio has recently released its rendition of King Fahd International Airport (ODEF) for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The product is their first ever for the platform and is a highly detailed rendition of Dammam’s primary airport.

Key Features

Vertex Design’s King Fahd Airport features an accurate airport layout with every taxiway, runway, and apron meticulously developed to match its real-world counterpart referencing the latest aeronautical charts. The airport also features custom 3D models of the terminal, control tower, cargo facilities, and surrounding structures with realistic PBR textures making for high-quality terminals and buildings.

Further features of the airport rendition include detailed ground textures with custom ground markings, realistic night lighting, custom jetways & ground services, and handcrafted vegetation and surroundings enhancing the airport surroundings, roads, and parking areas. The team has also optimized the performance of the airport ensuring high detail without sacrificing frame rates.

About King Fahd Airport

King Fahd International Airport or Dammam International Airport is the international airport serving Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and is located 31 kilometers northwest of downtown Dammam. It is named after the former King of Saudi Arabia, Fahd ibn Abdulaziz, and serves the entire eastern province of the country. It is one of the four primary international airports in the kingdom.

It is the third largest in the country by passenger volume, 10 million passengers pass through the airport every year. It has nonstop connections to more than 50 destinations around the world served by around 37 airlines. The airport also serves as the base for Flynas and Flyadeal.
