Verticalsim, a developer known for past releases such as Southwest Florida Airport for MSFS, has taken to its social media to announce the cancellation of Fort Lauderdale Airport for MSFS 2020 & 2024. The decision was made after the developer carefully reflected on the expectations that the product had, even though the airport had “much of the work already completed.”
Statement From Verticalsim
“The expectations for airport sceneries are constantly evolving, and KFLL, given its complexity, limited reference material, and shifting market demands, is no longer a practical or viable project for my team to complete to the standards I hold for all my work.
I’m committed to delivering airports that meet or exceed the expectations of the flight sim community. That means taking the time to do things right—never rushing a release or cutting corners.”
What’s Ahead
The developer will now focus on completing Palm Beach Airport (KPBI), as well as a new roadmap for what remains of the year. Verticalsim restates its commitment to delivering high-quality airports to the community “the right way.” The original statement can be found here.
