X-Plane 12’s NDA Lifted, Release Expected Within 24 Hours

X-Plane 12 is coming within the upcoming 24 hours, Laminar Research confirmed. NDA is now lifted, and the simulator is now on short final.

After almost a year of teasers and promises, Laminar Research has today lifted the NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) of X-Plane 12, which prohibited developers and other creators from sharing previews or any information about the platform publicly.

The NDA lift was accompanied by a number of developers sharing their projects from the simulator. Namely Origami Studios and Leading Edge Simulations. More may join later.

Alongside the previews, Laminar Research announced that their website is now going to be under maintenance to complete the last final items on the release checklist. As they noted, X-Plane 12 is now expected to release within the upcoming 24 hours, likely on September 6th.

This release of X-Plane 12 is going to be part of the public beta testing. Everyone who will buy the new simulator during the early access will also get a license for X-Plane 11.

Many developers have confirmed that they are going to bring their addons from X-Plane 11 to X-Plane 12 either free of charge or joined by a small upgrade fee.
