X-Plane.org Store Discounted Scenery Without Developer’s Permission

Filip from Chudoba Design has a few moments ago reported on his Discord server that X-Plane.org Store has apparently put one of his products up for a 55%

Filip from Chudoba Design has a few moments ago reported on his Discord server that X-Plane.org Store has apparently put one of his products up for a 55% sale without him knowing or approving this action.

Filip has earlier today received a big number of orders from the X-Plane.org Store. As he wrote, he found this very strange as he is not running any advertisements or sales in the store to promote his products. Thus, today is an ordinary day, as he suggested.

The team from Chudoba Design has discovered that their most recent release, Prague Airport (LKPR) scenery for X-Plane 11, is at a 55% discount. This discount was not communicated through with Filip or anyone from the team and is “a solo action” from X-Plane.org Store.

As Filip himself wrote: “I firmly believe this is only error. This was never allowed in any store, even with older sceneries. I wasn’t even asked if I want to do any discount for Black Friday on the X-Plane.org Store.

With that being said, all Prague Airport (LKPR) scenery licenses purchased today, at the 55% discount, were frozen until the team at Chudoba Design manages to sort things out.

There will also be a refund available for everyone who didn’t activate the license yet.

If you want to get Chudoba Design’s products at a discount, you can do so through SimMarket and the iniBuilds Store where the sales were authorized by Filip.

As of writing this article, the team from X-Plane.org Store has managed to put the sale out, however, made no comments regarding the topic yet.

UPDATE (26.11. 1316z): The team from X-Plane.org Store has, in response to Filip’s messages, put the sale out returning the product to the original $29.99 price tag. They have further confirmed it was a mistake on their side and have apologized. This will not affect any customers unless they activated the license already and would want a refund.
