Previously previewed back in October 2021, the team from Supercritical Simulations Group (SSG) has earlier today further previewed cockpit improvements soon coming to their Boeing 747-8 simulation for X-Plane 11.
The developers have spent the last few months completely reworking the cockpit to bring a whole new level of immersion. Today, we can enjoy ten new previews showcasing the new cockpit model, this time even with textures.
Base on the previews, the improvements are significant. The textures seem to be much more realistic and primarily, of a much higher resolution. The use of PBR is also obvious on the previews and should bring a much better visual experience.
In previous versions of the aircraft, the flight deck textures colour looked a bit off.
From the close-up previews shared earlier today, we can also see some apparent improvements in regards to the modelling. Various switches and buttons seem to be much more detailed from the previous versions.
Users will also be able to enjoy a whole new EFB layout once the update is out. Unfortunately, the release date is yet to be disclosed by the team. The update seems to be, however, very close.
The update should be free of charge for all existing owners of the addon.
The addon can be currently purchased at a discount which seems to be permanent through the X-Plane.org Store for $54.90. With the current conversion rate, that is equal to about €48.50.
Supercritical Simulations Group did not yet make any statements about X-Plane 12 and compatibility of their products with the new platform.
