Aero Dynamics, in collaboration with Infinity and Delta Simulations, has just released their T-38 Talon Professional for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The developers present it as their most advanced aircraft to date, combining a high-fidelity visual model with a fully simulated systems suite, authentic supersonic performance, and extensive training-oriented features.

A Feature-Rich Jet for MSFS 2024

The T-38 Talon Professional includes both the classic T-38A and the modernised T-38C, each built with a highly detailed 3D model and PBR textures. Aero Dynamics highlights a flight model capable of supersonic performance, refined stall behaviour, and realistic climb characteristics aligned with the well-known strengths of the Talon. The cockpit blends analogue and glass-cockpit elements, depending on the variant, and is supported by a custom avionics package and a functional virtual cockpit. The aircraft also incorporates an immersive Wwise-based sound environment, wingflex effects, ground-crew interactions, selectable configurations, and an interactive kneeboard.

The aircraft supports Navigraph data integration and external flight planning, and includes more than 10 authentic liveries. The developers note that the manual remains a work in progress, but the aircraft already ships with all major training and navigation modes implemented.

About the T-38 Talon

Introduced in the early 1960s, the Northrop T-38 Talon became the world’s first supersonic jet trainer and remains one of the most emblematic training aircraft ever produced. Operated primarily by the U.S. Air Force, it has served for decades as the gateway to advanced fighter training, preparing pilots transitioning to frontline aircraft such as the F-15, F-16, F-22 and, more recently, the F-35. Its lightweight, powerful engines and clean aerodynamics give it a climb rate exceeding 30,000 ft/min and a top speed above Mach 1.3, making it a demanding yet exceptionally precise platform for high-performance flight instruction.

Beyond its role as a trainer for military pilots, the T-38 has been deeply integrated into NASA operations, and astronauts use it to maintain flight proficiency and sharpen high-speed decision-making fundamentals. Its longevity and continued relevance reflect the robustness of its design and its unmatched suitability for pilot development.

The Talon as a Proving Ground

Aero Dynamics draws a direct parallel between the T-38’s real-world purpose and the role it played in their internal development pipeline: just as the Talon shapes pilots before they move on to more complex aircraft, the T-38 Professional served as a technical proving ground for the most demanding systems, avionics workflows, and performance-modelling challenges that stand between the team and a study-level DC-10/KC-10.

Developed in close partnership with Infinity and Delta Simulations, the aircraft was never treated as a detour but as a deliberate milestone, enabling key breakthroughs for their upcoming wide-body. The team stresses that every system, workflow and lesson learned on the T-38 is already accelerating the trijet, while also expressing gratitude to the community for reference material, testing support and patience throughout the project—underscoring that the Talon stands both as a complete product and as a foundational step in their long-term roadmap.

The T-38 Talon Professional is available now for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 only. Aero Dynamics has also released an official trailer showcasing the aircraft’s visuals and systems depth, along with three tutorial videos designed to help new pilots master the jet. The aircraft is priced at $29.99 and is available for purchase on Infinity’s website.
