The development team of Aerosoft has after a long time released their highly anticipated Airbus A330 Base Pack for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The Aerosoft team promises to offer a genuine simulation of the day-to-day flight operations of this popular wide-body aircraft. The initial release offers the A330-300, equipped with PW engines, with more variants coming later.

The developer created custom fly-by-wire systems with things like flight envelope protection, stall protection, pitch and roll trimmer, as well as G-load limiter, auto trim and alpha floor protection. There are custom autopilot systems, like vertical speed, open climb and descend, and NAV modes.

The Aerosoft A330 also has custom FADEC, the latest AIRAC navdata, a custom ADIR system and a modern electronic flight bag, enhancing the user experience.

The developer also promises that the aircraft has a realistic sound pack, door control, and custom ground services, and for those who would like to paint liveries, a comprehensive paint kit is included as well.

Some things have not been implemented in the aircraft so far. This includes loading and updating winds for a flight plan in the MCDU, there are no RNAV and LOC approaches, creating a secondary flight plan is also not possible and the aircraft can’t step climb, enter ETOPS waypoints and can’t enter holding patterns either.
