X-Plane add-on developer AirFoilLabs has recently shared an early development video that showcases some of the team’s work on its upcoming 737 MAX’s systems. The video focused on programming the Flight Management System (FMS) for a flight and displaying the flight plan on the Navigation Display (ND).

The video first showed basic route input by programming a flight from New York to Detroit, which included programming the departure, route, and arrival. Airway and waypoint input in the route page, as well as discontinuity handling in the legs page of the FMS were also shown.

Once done with the programming, the video went on to showcase the ND’s PLAN mode by going over the programmed route with it. Afterward, custom on-route and off-route waypoints, route offsets, and flight plan editing were shown. Lastly, the video showcased route holds, whose leg time, inbound course, direction, and more can all be edited.

No performance, VNAV, or other functions of the FMC were shown in the video, however, the AirFoilLabs 737 MAX is still in early development, so these features will likely come in future development updates. If you’re interested in more AirFoilLabs 737 MAX news, check out our previous article here.
