Axonos Announces The Mil Mi-2 Helicopter for MSFS

Axonos is a well-known scenery developer for Microsoft Flight Simulator and X-Plane. They recently announced via their Facebook page and Discord server that they are working on a rendition of the Mil Mi-2 Helicopter for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This project is going to “take things up a notch” for Axonos according to the developer.

The Mil Mi-2 Helicopter

The Mi-2, also known as “Hoplite,” was introduced in the 1960s. It was developed by Mil Moscow Helicopter in the Soviet Union and produced by PZL-Świdnik in Poland. This helicopter was the first Soviet-designed aircraft to be built outside of the Soviet Union. A total of 5497 units were produced, mainly for military use. The primary operators of this type were the Soviet Air Force and the Polish Armed Forces. Even today, there are still active Mi-2 helicopters in use around the world. They are utilized for various tasks such as search and rescue, firefighting, crop dusting, and police operations. Some military forces around the world continue to use it for military purposes.

What to Expect From The Mi-2 Helicopter for MSFS

The team at Axonos will bring a high-fidelity visual and flight experience with this new project. Their objective is to simulate every part of the aircraft with the new physics for helicopters in MSFS. Axonos is aiming with this project to simulate all tasks the Mi-2 can perform. For medical operations, for example, medical equipment will be animated and the user will be able to interact with it.
