Developer Burning Blue Design has taken to their social media to release new previews of their two upcoming sceneries for Microsoft Flight Simulator. These previews came as images showcasing the progress of their Fowlmere and North Weald airfields sceneries. According to the developer, it is confirmed that Fowlmere Airfield will “arrive soon” as a freeware product. North Weald Airfield is still in the works with no release date window available, this scenery will be payware.
Fowlmere Airfield Previews
Fowlmere Airfield is located in England near the towns of Royston and Cambridge. This airfield was previously used as a Royal Air Force Base named RAF Fowlmere. Today, it is used as a museum and hosts the British Aerobatic Academy and the Modern Air Flying Club.
The newest previews shared by Burning Blue Design showcase their work done around this scenery. The scenery is shown to include multiple details like parked vehicles and static aircraft. Around the airfield, you can find modeled buildings that include small details like signs and modeled people who populate the scenery.
Burning Blue Design will release soon this freeware scenery on their website and via ORBX. For Xbox users, this scenery will have a small cost because Microsoft does not allow freeware sceneries according to the developer.
North Weald Airfield Previews
North Weald Airfield is the second scenery coming to MSFS by Burning Blue Design. This airfield is located in the village of North Weald, England. During the Second World War, it was used as a RAF base known as RAF North Weald. Similar to the previous airfield in this article, this airfield is no longer used for military purposes and is now home to a museum, flight schools, and an air ambulance base.
The previews of this airfield are similar to the ones from the Fowlmere Scenery. These images showcase the work done by the developer on this scenery around the airfield. Because this is a bigger airport with multiple operators, more and bigger buildings are modeled in this scenery like the control tower and the air ambulance base. Images also showcase the details and modeling around the airfield.
Although these images show a completed scenery, the developer assured that there is still work to do with the North Weald Airfield and there is no release window for this payware scenery. Further previews and news regarding these two sceneries for MSFS will be published on their Discord Server and here at FSNews.
