The highly anticipated Caravan Professional from Black Square is now on short final for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024, according to the latest update from publisher Just Flight. The release window is reportedly just around the corner.
First on social media, Just Flight shared encouraging news for sim pilots awaiting the new aircraft package, originally announced back in November 2024. The most important information from the post is the provisional debut date; if development remains on schedule, Caravan Professional is expected to launch in March. Then, even more news were shared on Just Flight’s website, straight from Black Square’s Nick Cyganski, and on the official product page.
What to Expect from Caravan Professional
Caravan Professional marks Black Square’s next major step towards delivering the most technically advanced simulation of the Cessna 208 Caravan for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Following the success of the Steam Gauge Overhaul add-on for MSFS 2020, the Caravan has been built entirely from scratch, avoiding the constraints of Asobo’s default aircraft model.
Thanks to Nick Cyganski, we learned many details about the upcoming release, which include:
- A completely new, highly detailed exterior model with improved materials
- Custom sound package recorded from a real aircraft by Boris Audio Works
- Integration with Black Square’s custom EFB tablet with systems visualizers
- Updated turbine engine simulation
- FOD damage based on surface type
- Realistic gyroscope physics and additional system depth
- Twelve paint schemes and five interior packages
- and much more…
It is worth mentioning that Black Square prepared a special PDF document on “What’s new since the Analog Caravan?” There is also an extensive operating manual available if you want to go over the nuts and bolts ahead of the launch. You can find links to both documents on the official product page.
The Caravan Professional lineup will include three distinct variants: the Grand Caravan, the Super Cargomaster, and the Grand Caravan Amphibian equipped with floats. It was previously confirmed that the Caravan Professional package will be sold as two separate products, the passenger edition and the amphibian & cargo edition. This way, users can buy only the variants they want or get all three in a bundle. Discounts will be available for those who wish to purchase the full lineup or who already own the Steam Gauge Overhaul – Analog Caravan.
The aircraft will be available for MSFS 2020 and 2024 on Just Flight’s website for the initial launch, with an in-sim marketplace release planned for a later date. With more details expected in upcoming weeks, Caravan Professional is clearly on approach — and we won’t have to wait much longer for touchdown.
