BlueBird Simulations has confirmed that it missed its planned release window for the BlueBird 757 for MSFS 2024, according to updates posted by the team on its Discord server. The developer says the release is now expected within hours rather than days, but the community reaction to the way the delay was handled has been strongly negative.
The Boeing 757 is a twin-engine narrowbody airliner that was widely flown by passenger and cargo airlines. It is remembered for its strong climb performance and for sitting between the smaller narrowbodies and the widebody jets. We previously covered a hardware collaboration between WingFlex and the BlueBird 757.
In the first update, the team said one of its developers had been taken to urgent care. This person is responsible for the deployment infrastructure and backend, which the team says hit its timeline harder than most setbacks would. The developers said they were still working towards the timeframe set out in the server’s FAQ, which gives a release in Q3 2026. They had not confirmed a delay, which they gave as the reason for the radio silence, but they called one a real possibility.

A later update stated that the team would “just miss” its release window. According to BlueBird, all relevant developers are working to deliver the aircraft within the next several hours, and the next message from the team will be the release itself.
Meanwhile, the Discord channel was locked to the community for sending new messages. A team member said the moderators had been overwhelmed and that the lock was temporary, so they could catch up. The same message clarified that the BlueBird website had been taken down intentionally and had not gone offline because of heavy traffic. Community feedback has focused on the lack of communication and the missed date.
Distributor Just Flight also responded to questions in a comment on its Facebook page. It said it was awaiting the green light from BlueBird, that the matter was out of its hands, and that it knew the developer was working hard to get the aircraft ready as soon as possible.
The BlueBird Boeing 757 for MSFS 2024 will cost 80$ when released. You can follow further developments here on FSNews.
