The developer Boris Audio Works, responsible for the immersive PMDG 737 NG Soundpack, released back in January of this year, has confirmed through a YouTube video that he has been working on a similar soundpack for the PMDG’s Boeing 777 Series.

In the video, where Boris Audio Works talks about the 777 Soundpack, he mentions that he has been working in a lot of places around the world to get this soundpack assembled. Boris mentioned that this is his most ambitious soundset he has ever worked on.

This soundpack is going to include sounds for all the 777 variants available, including the different engine types. Boris also mentioned that this soundpack was initially developed by Dave from Fenix Simulations, and after things got busy for him, Boris continued with this project in close collaboration with Dave.

This soundpack is going to be compatible with both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and MSFS 2024, as well as on Xbox and PC. It has been mentioned that this project aims at a realistic experience, with overworked ambience sounds, re-recorded buttons, switches, and even new sounds, such as the chiller boost fan. As the sounds are promised to be loud, a headphone simulation mode is also included and can be activated through the aircraft’s radio panel.

This soundpack should be released in October and is now in beta testing. The product will cost $ 15 for the entire package. If you wish to purchase only one engine option, individual packs will cost $ 8.

Drama Erupted?

With the announcements of this soundpack, a smaller drama has erupted within the flight simulator Reddit community, saying that there has been an “uproar from hardcore PMDG fans on their official Discord”.

Some people were also saying that they got banned from the PMDG’s Discord server for mentioning Boris Audio Works’ soundpack. Some PMDG moderators responded, saying that those were false claims, and the PMDG team doesn’t see this as an issue. Some moderators also mentioned they like Boris’s work on the sounds, even saying that with this release, people will have the option to choose between different soundsets, benefiting both PMDG and Boris Audio Works even more.

There is thus a high chance that this drama has been created for no reason, as there doesn’t seem to be any dispute between PMDG and Boris Audio Works fans.
