The iFly 737 MAX 8 for Microsoft Flight Simulator has been making headlines over the past few weeks as iFly slowly released preview images of their hotly-anticipated jet. Now, thanks to iFly, FSNews has obtained an early preview copy of the iFly 737 MAX 8, and we can finally show it off in excruciating detail.

First, let’s set the stage: Flight1 Software, Inc. provided this preview copy of the 737 MAX 8. This is not a full review. What you see now is in early beta and Flight1 will be working hard to improve any shortcomings as they move toward release. The release date is currently unannounced. Right now, we’re just going to take a look at a darn good-lookin’ jet – but stay tuned to FSNews for the full review closer to release! This aircraft is certainly poised to impress with high-resolution textures and detailed modeling. It’s apparent that Flight1’s artists have done their homework to bring the 737 MAX to MSFS. This detail extends to the inside of the aircraft, where the cockpit and cabin seek to set a new bar for what is visually possible as MSFS enters its waning days before Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 releases on November 19. So let’s take a good look at that cabin now!
iFly 737 MAX 8 Cabin Preview

Flight1 has included only one cabin layout – a 178-seat 2-class configuration – with the preview build of the MAX 8 for MSFS, but reconfigurable cabins will be available on release. Even so, the amount of customization is still impressive, and that comes mostly down to the extensive lighting options that are accessible from a console in the fore and aft galleys. Liveries can also change the textures of the seats, right down to safety cards. And I think that the iFly 737 MAX 8 for MSFS might have the most complete lavatory simulation of any airliner right now – with doors (and seats) that can open at your command!

Now, you’ll be spending most of your time in this aircraft in the cockpit, and I am happy to report that iFly has not neglected this. The sheepskin chairs look more comfortable than my desk chair and in both day and night lighting, the cockpit of the MAX is a nice place to spend a flight.
