The development team of Microsoft Flight Simulator has released their twelve-city update for MSFS 2020 and 2024. This update arrives right after the release of the major Sim Update 3 for MSFS 2024. City Update 12 brings improvements to seven cities across Germany. The development team added new modeled points of interest and new photogrammetry that bring these cities to life.
Augsburg
The first city to receive an update is Augsburg. Located in the state of Bavaria, 30 miles west of Munich, it features impressive architecture and various notable buildings like its town hall and the Fuggerei. Augsburg features multiple water canals through the city and a rich history, being one of the oldest cities in Germany.
Bremen
Bremen also got improved in this update. It is one of the bigger cities in the country, known for its cultural activities. The city is along the west river, being one of the most important ports in Europe. It features the St. Peter’s Cathedral and the Bremen City Hall, which is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Leipzig, Dresden, and Leuben
Three cities in Saxony were updated with City Update 12. Leipzig is a major hub for education and publishing, featuring Leipzig University, one of the oldest in Europe. All around the city, you can find multiple historical buildings and monuments. The next cities to be updated are Dresden and Leuben. It is the second-largest city in the state, featuring multiple important industries and landmarks. This update covers all of Dresden and its borough, Lueben, featuring its most notable landmarks: the Zwinger Palace and the Frauenkirche.
Kiel
The update now moves to the shore of the Baltic Sea, more specifically, the city of Kiel. The town is famous for its maritime culture. You can find festivals, a shipbuilding center, and a lot of smaller ships around the city. Kiel also features multiple important buildings to check out, including the State Theater and the St. Nikolai Church.
Münster
The final city to visit with City Update 12 is Münster in North Rhine-Westphalia. Being a science-focused city, you can find multiple universities, and the University of Münster. You can explore various landmarks that can be found around the area, such as the Münster Cathedral and St. Lambert’s Church.
