COWS has updated its DA40 and DA42 systems and their flight models for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. They have also added a few new features to the aircraft. This update includes bug fixes, adjustments, improvements, and more for both planes.

About DA40 and DA42
Both the DA40 and DA42 are manufactured by Diamond Aircraft Industries, located in Austria. The main difference between the two aircraft is that while the DA40 flies with a single engine, the DA42 is a twin-engine plane. Unlike the older DA40, the DA42 has retractable landing gear and nearly double the range of the DA40. Among some of the few things that stayed the same was the capacity of the plane, which was still limited to three passengers.
The team released the Diamond DA42 nearly a year ago and the DA40 two months ago. We have an in-depth review article for the DA42 and an informative release article for the DA40, which can give you a better understanding of the plane.
New Updates
With the latest update, both planes received new features and adjustments to their flight models, systems, sounds, and more. Many features were improved, fixed, and adjusted for the DA40, such as stall behaviour, fuel consumption irregularity, engine response, and performance issues. Additional electrical system fixes were made, and G1000 CAS messages were updated.
The DA42 also received numerous improvements, fixes, and adjustments, such as flap lift, stall behaviour, fuel consumption irregularity, model and texture fixes, AFCS behaviour, and FADEC improvements. The sound of the wind also now interacts with the angle of attack and slip for both aircraft. You can also now find a new gyro system in the aircraft with a new cage simulation and toppling.

You can buy the DA40 for $24.73 and the DA42 for $28.37 from the Orbx website. Check out our previous articles about the COWS DA40 and DA42 here on FSNews. If you are interested in another GA aircraft, check out our Propair Shark 600 article by Jean here.
