COWS Releases DA40-XLS for MSFS

The developer COWS has released their highly anticipated DA40-XLS for both Microsoft Flight Simulator and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

The developer COWS has released their highly anticipated DA40-XLS for both Microsoft Flight Simulator and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The information about the release has been published yesterday on their Discord server.

The DA40 is a single-engine sibling to the DA42, which COWS has previously released for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The developer released the XLS variant of this aircraft, which offers a Lycoming engine, weaker than its siblings, TDI and NG.

COWS has done its best to recreate the DA40 in the simulator environment, with precisely crafted 3D models and textures that resemble realistic wear. There are two interior variants, custom placards sourced and positioned based on Diamond maintenance manuals. A realistic bug splutter texture is also referenced from a real-world DA40.

The flight model is made with the help of pilots who fly this aircraft in real life, and brought its as accurate recreation as possible. The developer says that this add-on can also be used for student pilots for home training. Not only with its flight model, but also complex system simulation

COWS DA40-XLS also offers a realistic sound pack, by the same developer responsible for the sound packs of DA42 series, FlightFX Vision Jet and A32NX. Headset simulation is also included.

If you would like to buy this aircraft, you can do so by going to the Orbx Direct store, where you can find it for approximately โ‚ฌ24.16. An X-Plane 12 version is going to come out as well, in the near future. You can also read more about the initial announcement of this aircraft in one of our articles.
