DC Designs have taken to social media to update their progress on future releases for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This update focuses mainly on the F-15E and what progress is being made to bring this iconic military aircraft to the new simulator.
First, the developer apologises for not posting any new cockpit images of the F-15E. This has been due to the way he converts the addons into the MSFS SDK. This setback has incurred delays, but the developer seems confident in catching up due to a greater understanding of the new simulators SDK.
However, the developer has managed to implement some features. The F-15E has had a weapons overhaul, and fuel tanks function dynamically. Working rearview mirrors have also been added as well as PBR textures for the cockpit.
Work in progress includes the afterburner shockwaves, but the developer has managed to post some screenshots of this, which feature above. Other F-15 models are also being produced, namely the C and D variants. These are almost finished but require some additional animation coding.
Despite the setbacks, DC Designs are still aiming to release the F-15 late November. It will be a welcome addition to the choices of aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
