Drzewiecki Design Announces Western Sydney Airport

The team of Drzewiecki Design has announced a new scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator, making its debut in the Australian market with their rendition of Western Sydney International Airport. The team has announced this scenery via their Facebook page.

About Western Sydney International Airport

Western Sydney International Airport (YSWS) is a future international airport serving the largest city in Australia. The airport is set to open the next year, and it is planned to accommodate 10 million passengers, operating all day long. It is promised to be an airport unlike any other in Australia, with fully sustainable energy sources and open for both domestic and international travel.

The airport was designed by the world-known Zaha Hadid Architects, and constructed by the Australian company Multiplex. Its construction began in 2018, with initial plans dating back to 2014.

Rendition by Drzewiecki Design

So far, not much is currently known about the scenery. It has been confirmed that the team is working on this airport using Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 technology to ensure the best possible visual experience.

Not only that, but the team got their hands on airport documentation, high-quality images and even charts and blueprints to recreate the airport at the highest possible level of fidelity.

From the screenshots, we can notice that the team has already created parts of the airport and made them work inside the simulator. The terminal is so far untextured, but the ground textures are already progressing well.
