Enhanced Skyscapes is an add-on developed by BiologicalNanobot which modifies the sky textures and adds volumetric clouds to X-Plane. This add-on was released in 2021 as a payware add-on for €12.80 via the Threshold Store, then published in the ORBX store. At the beginning of this year, this add-on was taken down from sale by the developer. Recently, Enhanced Skyscapes was relaunched as a freeware add-on via their Discord server.
Developer Comments on The Situation of The Add-on
On the 7th of February this year, the user Biology posted a statement via Discord on his decision to remove this add-on from sale. In this statement, he commented that he doesn’t have time to work on this add-on due to his new job. He decided to remove this add-on from sale as he doesn’t want to sell an add-on that he is not working on enough.
A New Future For Enhanced Skyscapes
A few days ago, Biology wrote a new statement via their Discord Server. Announcing that Enhanced Skyscapes is back but now as a freeware product. He then provided the add-on and the key to the product.
