FlightFactor 777 v2 for X-Plane: New Teaser Released And First Live Streams

The FlightFactor team has taken to the X-Plane.org YouTube channel to present the newest preview of the upcoming Boeing 777 v2 for X-Plane 12.

The 777 v2 Teaser

As we are getting closer and closer to the final release we can see more and more of this add-on on YouTube. The recent teaser made by the FlightFactor team shows off the visuals of the airplane. Additionally, we can see in that video that the ground-handling models will receive custom animations simulating ground crew functions.

However, the developers partly lifted the NDA, allowing selected streamers to go live with this aircraft. Thanks to that, flight simulator enjoyers now have access to a wealth of intriguing functionalities that were never showcased in any previews. The rest of the information and screenshots presented in this article will be based on DrishalMAC2’s stream.

One of the main interesting functions brought by this add-on is the maintenance function. Some parts of the airplane will have some wear that will decrease over time and will have to be replaced. The maintenance tab in the EFB features many options, such as hydraulics, gear and tires, engines, or electrics. During the maintenance, we will be able to see some animations, like weather radar opening, tire replacement, or engine cowling opening.

Unlike most add-ons, the FlightFactor v2 has innovative functions for conducting ground or airplane controls. The ‘cabin interphone’ plays the main role in performing those functions. The interphone is located where the third CDU is located; via this device, we have the option to contact the purser, the company, and the ground crew. To select the desired one we have to select it with the ‘mic’ button on the audio panel.

With the ground crew option, for example, we can control things such as a GPU connection, air unit connections, or inserting chocks. The purser option on the other hand might allow you to get some coffee or a crew meal, and also perform emergency operations. All of that is topped up with a simulated first officer who can perform some tasks, such as going through the checklists.

Another innovative function implemented by the FlightFactor is the pushback tug that we can steer. Meaning that we can take an active part in conducting the pushback operation. To control the tug, regular flight controls are used. The throttle is to control speed, and joystick/yoke movements are used to steer.

The release date of the Boeing 777 v2 by FlightFactor is still unknown, yet on the live transmissions, we can see how detailed this aircraft will be, featuring many innovative functions. For now, you can also read our previous article about this add-on, covering the exterior preview.
