FlightFactor, an aircraft developer for X-Plane known for past releases such as the Boeing 777v2, has just revealed the state of its A320 product. The developer assured that the project is “very much alive,” given the extensive rework being done on the aircraft, which was first released years ago.
New Aircraft Platform
The team stated that they have put their entire A320 team to work on the aircraft. They have made a brand-new aircraft platform that is fully capable of simulating aircraft systems with “any level of complexity.” Looking ahead, this implies that the only limitation FlightFactor has is the simulator itself when it comes to reworking the product.
According to the developer, the platform was designed to provide smooth integration with home cockpits and professional setups. It features multi-monitor and network support, as well as a high-speed communication protocol for hardware.

What is Being Reworked?
The aircraft is getting a completely new exterior look after this rework, as it has been remade to meet modern visual standards, as well as correcting interior flaws. Features such as the weather and terrain radar, ACARS, and a fully functional set of circuit breakers will be introduced, among other improvements.
Timeline
Although much of the work mentioned by the developer is already completed, FlightFactor cannot provide an exact release date yet, given that the team is working to deliver a high-quality product, which will be released as soon as they are “confident in its quality.” Rather than weeks, the developer stated that it is a “matter of months.”

Upgrade Cost
In relation to the possible cost of upgrading the product after this rework (for customers who already own the aircraft), jaabab, one of the developers, mentioned that it is most likely to be a free update, however, he stated that “things can change,” leaving uncertainty regarding the possible cost. We will be covering the evolution of this rework as more updates come out, so do not hesitate to check out our website regularly. In the meantime, you can check out our latest articles.
