FlightFactor recently released its long-awaited Boeing 777v2 to the public. This version is a public beta but includes all the features, especially the long-missing VNAV. The private alpha testing club is now open to all for discussing or reporting bugs.
FlightFactor 777v2 Features
The FlightFactor B777v2 comes with many detailed simulated features. Some of the major features include a fully functional CPDLC, a customized performance calculator in the EFB, and voice control of the First Officer. The 777v2 introduces an innovative crew interaction system with AI voices, briefing readouts, and the ability to communicate with the crew, ground services, and the cabin through the CDU3 located in the middle of the lower pedestal.
Additionally, the 777v2 includes over 1000 different failure scenarios and a basic instructor station to set up your flight scenario as needed. For instance, you can input an ICAO, runway info, and state of flight, and the plane will place you in the selected scenario. The aircraft also simulates real wear and tear and has a maintenance section included. Your plane will require maintenance after a certain amount of time, and you can choose how the plane’s condition changes over time.
FlightFactor notes that one of the lead developers is 777-type rated, and the plane was developed with other active 777 pilots. They claim that the flight model is accurate within 2%-5% of the real one. Another innovative feature is the pushback system, which involves controlling a tug in speed, direction, and more, rather than just pressing a button on a screen. You can also use your joystick to control it.
As previously mentioned, FlightFactor aims to provide support for training and help with type ratings. You can save your flight situation and set up specific training scenarios. With features like an accurate water and waste system, it’s evident that FlightFactor has deeply simulated the aircraft.
You can get your copy of the FlightFactor 777v2 on the x-plane.org store for US$89.00 during the public beta period. Afterward, the price will increase to US$99.00.
