FlightFX, known for its private-jet add-ons such as the Cessna Citation X, has released the Hawker Beechcraft 800XP for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, adding another business jet to its lineup.
About the Hawker 800XP
The Hawker 800XP is a midsize business jet designed for corporate, charter, and private aviation, combining a relatively spacious cabin with the performance needed for regional and longer-distance flights. The aircraft has a maximum cruise speed of around 450 knots and a range of approximately 2,400 nautical miles, depending on configuration and operating conditions. It typically accommodates up to eight passengers and has a maximum operating altitude of 41,000 feet. The 800XP is powered by two Honeywell TFE731-5BR turbofan engines and has a maximum takeoff weight of approximately 12,700 kg.
Developed from the Hawker 800 series, the 800XP introduced performance and equipment improvements over earlier variants while retaining the established design of the Hawker 800 family. Its combination of range, passenger capacity and operating characteristics made it a popular choice in the midsize business-jet market. Although production has ended, the Hawker 800XP continues to operate with private owners, charter companies and other aviation operators around the world, with many examples remaining active in the pre-owned aircraft market.
About the Add-On
The Hawker 800XP add-on includes simulations of the aircraft’s pneumatic, pressurization, electrical, engine, fuel, hydraulic, and ice-protection systems. The pneumatic model calculates airflow, temperature, and pressure, while the pressurization system uses dual outflow valves and supports automatic and manual operation. The electrical system models the aircraft’s buses, generators, APU, battery, ground-power and inverter configurations, with six backup batteries represented. The two TFE731-5BR engines are simulated through a digital engine control model that accounts for N2 acceleration, fuel flow, ITT, thrust reversers, automatic power reserve and engine synchronization.
The add-on also models the Hawker 800XP’s fuel and hydraulic systems, including fuel transfer, balancing, refueling and defueling, as well as hydraulic pressure, flow, fluid quantity and temperature. Landing gear, flaps, airbrakes, nosewheel steering, and other systems are linked to the hydraulic supply. The ice-protection system uses TKS fluid that can be depleted and refilled, with fluid application represented on the wings. On the avionics side, the aircraft uses a customized version of Working Title’s PL21, with aircraft-specific FMC pages, weather radar, integrated charts, performance calculators, checklists, VNAV functions, and flight-director logic.
The add-on includes an Electronic Flight Bag called VAMS 3.0, which provides system synoptics, Navigraph and LIDO charts, SimBrief flight-plan integration, an in-flight map and weight-and-balance functions. Ground controls allow users to operate the GPU and refueling truck and manage equipment such as chocks and engine covers. The aircraft also uses a persistence system that records more than 1,300 parameters for each airframe, including switch and lever positions, fuel, weight and balance, hydraulic and TKS fluid quantities, and engine operating time. The stored aircraft state can then be restored for subsequent cold-and-dark flights.
