FlightSim.com Store, a flight simulator site for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, X-Plane, Prepar3D, and FSX products, has officially announced its closure. Although the store’s sales were shut down by the previous owner a while ago, the domain name of the website has now changed hands. It is also made clear that the store will not return.
Information for Existing Customers
Owners of products purchased from the FlightSim.com Store are instructed to download and back up any products if they are still able to log in. All remaining downloads will be unavailable after December 2025; thereafter, no purchases can be restored. For long-term access, users will need to contact individual developers of the products, with proof of purchase, to ensure a smooth migration of the product license to the current store.
Plans for the Future
FlightSim.com, the community page, will continue to function as-is throughout December of this year, with the forums and conversations remaining key to the website while plans take shape. An official forum post states that the “domain and brand will move forward under a new ownership team”, consisting of long-time members of the flight sim community and active simmers.
